Derby SEND Voice is led and run by volunteer Parent Carers, and we’re always looking for passionate members to get more involved!

At the heart of our work is a commitment to ensure the Parent Carer voice is heard loud and clear.

Whether you're filling in a feedback form about local services, taking part in focus groups with service leaders, or hosting a coffee morning, your contribution helps shape the future for SEND families in Derby.

Different Roles

Derby SEND Voice is built on the strength and dedication of our local Parent Carer community.

At the foundation are all the Parent Carers in Derby who care for a child or young person with SEND ( not members of Derby SEND Voice).

Then we have our members, who access exclusive events and opportunities to share their views. Their feedback plays a vital role in shaping SEND services across Derby City.

Some of our members choose to become reps, offering their time to support the forum by attending events, hosting coffee mornings, be active in projects across Derby and further afield, and encouraging others to join.

At the core of our leadership is the steering group, which includes our chairs. These individuals represent the collective voice of our members in strategic meetings with service providers and decision-makers. They also ensure that Derby SEND Voice is run transparently, fairly, and always with the best interests of SEND families at heart
